Some recent stuff

Deck The Halls arrangement

An arrangement I did for the Canberra Chordsmen, now for sale (see my Arrangements page).

Audio rendered using Synthesizer V, a marvellous program that I’ve been experimenting with.

Interview with Jono Albertini

I recently spoke to the skilled and inspiring Jono Albertini on my podcast. We talked about his group Cornerstone, competition and the role it serves in music, how to start a vocal group from scratch, and many things besides.

New episode coming soon - in which I speak to a choir leader/blogger/workshop leader from the UK - stay tuned!

In My Own Soul - Original Music

I’ve been fascinated with using samples in music recently. In this sci-fi-esque track, I sampled the voice of Werner Herzog speaking on the Adam Buxton Podcast (a podcast of which I am a big fan).

The track is contemplative, starting slow but accelerating, with a chord-based riff looping on piano and strings alternately. Werner’s voice drifts from left ear to right, reassuring you that you too, will come to terms with this in your own soul. Meanwhile, the astronaut surveys the slowly turning world and ponders.
