Rounds

A four-line round about December dragging on…and on…

I’m fortunate to be surrounded by many fine friends. Add some wine and a good movie, and you’ve got yourself a round!

This one is a little trickier, but worth the effort.

Listen for the G(add9) chord on ‘wide’!

A cheerful melody with somewhat sad lyrics.

At Strange Weather Choir, a committee member noted with dismay that it seems to rain a lot on our rehearsal nights.

And thus a new round was born! So in the end, those rainclouds did have a silver lining.

TFW you’re in lockdown and you wish you could go outside…

Another tricky one - this one features some staccato notes and a fun moment when you will hear “go-stay-out-in-SIDE”

A round for Lucus, our accompanist/assistant director at Strange Weather Choir. His name is spelled unconventionally and so we had to make a round to remind people how to spell it!

A spooky minor-key round.

Exchange one of the lines with “I lost my phone, out in the woods” for fun.

Written during COVID times, with the intent to remind folks that friends are never far away!

In Strange Weather, one of our beloved tenors and committee members is called Boyd.

There are several stories that involve Boyd and a bus (it’s weird that it happened more than once). So I thought there ought to be a round to celebrate Boyd and the bus.

Also check out the video for a demonstration of the round.

A very simple and satisfying round.

Works as a 2-phrase round or as a 4-phrase round.

A minor key round.

Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’ slippin’…

For tea drinkers; especially fans of Earl Grey.

I visited the Canberra Sea Shanty Club and was inspired to write a round with a nautical theme.

Possibly I should have added some more ‘yo-ho’s or ‘arrrr’s.
